Day Ten, 2025

 Tournament weekend!

Away from home for our youngest chid's' tournament so though the inspiration may be there - this weekend is about the family time & I'll be taking all opportunities to have the time with them.

These family trips weren't as carefree when the girls were younger and their sports took us around.  So this trip will hopefully be a lot less stressful.  It's great that paying for fewer sports makes it possible to not stress about funding the kids sports.  I don't know how the higher levels afford these things as they have much more travel but I'm so glad to be able to watch the kids play.

The fearless racing - across trails, across fields, across ice, frankly just blows my mind.  I am amazed that they have the courage to compete when I used to be so terrified of putting myself out there physically.  It's not that I never tried,  I was a bit sporty.  It's watching how great they've become - they make it look easy.  The muscle memory from all those practices and the ease of quick thinking/action while in play too.

I was there when their fumbly little bodies couldn't roll over, refused to crawl and just butt 'scooted'.  Their favourite way to be carried was piggy back - so I was the powerhouse - and now they just run, kick, and glide effortlessly.  It's just awesome.

So who knows if I'll have time to dig in and overthink things enough to write... hopefully it will be more exciting to enjoy this time and I'll have nothing but awe and joy.

Today's action is to follow the fun and get over myself enough to not be anxious hanging with the other parents.
