 It's Easy to Forget

In all the years we've been together it's easy to get so caught up in the everyday things that occur while raising a family.  The reason you're here isn't forgotten but the motives that made you start the journey aren't thought of much after you've made the choice and you're living it, trying to do your best.

That is why we need to get away more often together.  To a place where we can sleep without the dog between us or going to bed at separate times so someone has checked in with the kids when they return from work or being with their friends.

We didn't have the funds for extra trips with the kids let alone extra trips on top of those that were just for us.  There are places I LOVED as a kid that I never took our kids to and that is a regret that I hope might still have an effect on them if I bring them as older teens.  Not doing those trips is my regret.

We do need to get back to prioritising our relationship now though - especially since the kids may not want to go to those places - maybe grandkids... but not for many years yet.

I'm glad we haven't forgotten our reasons for choosing to build this life together and hope we keep setting aside time to celebrate and focus on us.
